The US government has arrested the alleged owner of KickassTorrents, the largest torrent site in the world. 30 years old Ukrainian was arrested today in Poland and charged with criminal copyright infringement and money laundering. In addition, a federal court in Chicago ordered the seizure of several KAT domain name.
With millions of visitors per day KickassTorrents (KAT) the site most commonly used torrent is the Internet, also beat The Pirate Bay.
Today, however, the site announced a major obstacle to the US authorities for the arrest of the presumed owner of the site.
The 30-year-old Artem Vaulin, Ukraine, was arrested today in Poland, where the United States has requested his extradition.
In a lawsuit in US District Court in Chicago filed, the owner of conspiracy to commit criminal breach of copyright, conspiracy to commit money laundering and two counts of breach of criminal copyright.
